CENTERBURG, Ohio— The Jacque Cordle Children’s Fund food pantry has been blessed to receive a $3000 Winter food grant from Food For The Hungry (FFTH) organization to help cover expenses for our 14-day Christmas food distribution for residents of the Centerburg Local School District (LSD).

After an Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) flyer to the Centerburg LSD residents detailing the registration process for Christmas distribution, client response has been unbelievable! This year we opened distributions to any family, with or without children if they lived within the Centerburg LSD and met the financial guidelines as set by Job and Family Services.

With overwhelming registration responses, we are so blessed to have funds from FFTH to help purchase all the necessary items we will include in the distribution.

The pantry follows the USDA nutritional guidelines for recommended levels of food intake. We cover 3 nutritional meals and a snack daily in this distribution. With this special Christmas and Spring break distribution the pantry also addresses personal care items, home care items, books for all family members, family puzzles, stuffed animals for children, and a wrapped toy at Christmas for children ten and under.

The FFTH organization has blessed the Jacque Cordle Children’s Fund pantry with grant funding since 2017. The organization kicks off their annual food and fundraising county wide program in November. Pantries and groups in Knox county who feed the hungry are blessed by grants offered in summer and winter. FFTH is a major fund provider to ISS, Salvation Army, and the Center of Hope. It is so important for the community to support their county wide drive so all food insecurities can be addressed throughout Knox county.

Our senior program will also have an enhanced Christmas delivery for 10 days of food, personal and home care items, puzzles, and personal gifts delivered on December 21st. Registration for the Christmas distribution ends December 1st.

Anyone needing food from either our regular 7-day food package or senior program may call (740) 625-1199 and select option 3 to get started – this is a monthly program open to all Centerburg LSD residents who meet the financial guidelines. We encourage all our clients to use Meals on Wheels from Centerburg Senior Center and the ISS food Pantry in addition to our programs to be sure your food needs are resolved.

Private appointments are set up with our pantry to receive your food. We are located off Sugar Alley at 12 W Main Street, Centerburg – parking is available at the corner of Sugar Alley and Hartford Avenue. All client information is confidential. We do not share client information with third parties. Call today to let us help you monthly with your food needs. Jacque’s Kids Food Pantry is an equal opportunity provider.
